With my mentees
at the MFOE congress in Siófok
At the 49th Congress of the Hungarian Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery two of my mentees joined me — Dr. Zsuzsa Varga also gave a talk on which I was a co-author.
From 8 to 11 October, Siófok hosted the 49th Congress of the Hungarian Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (MFOE) — the largest annual professional meeting of Hungarian ENT. This year these few days were especially dear to me: two of my mentees, Dr. Róbert Bertoldi and Dr. Zsuzsa Varga, came along.
In Saturday’s operative rhinology session Dr. Zsuzsa Varga presented a talk entitled “Reconstructive nasal surgery at the department: a retrospective analysis” (title translated from Hungarian), together with the team of the ENT and head and neck surgery department of the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Hospital — I had the privilege of being a co-author. For a surgeon there are few finer affirmations than seeing a mentee present our joint work before the national forum of the profession.
Passing on knowledge is as much a part of my profession as the operating theatre: what I learn at international courses — in Coventry, in Istanbul — I want to pass on at home as well. I am very proud of Róbert and Zsuzsa.
